01Who we are

Fly Lekker is a flight-deal alert club based in Cape Town, South Africa. We are the “responsible party” for your personal information under the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA). You can reach us, including our information officer, at flylekkerclub@gmail.com.

02What we collect

When you join: your email address, home airport, dream destination (optional), your consent choices, and how you found us (for example, an ad or link) if that’s in the signup link.
If you become a paying member: your name, membership and billing status from our payment provider. Your card details go straight to the payment provider. We never see or store your full card number.
When you email us: what you send us.
Email activity: our email provider records whether emails are delivered, opened or clicked, so we can see which deals are useful.
Technical data: like any website, our hosting provider processes your IP address and browser details to serve pages and protect the site from abuse.

The flight prices we track are not personal information.

03How we use it

to send the deals you signed up for, matched to your home airport and dream destination;
to run your membership: trial, billing, renewal reminders and cancellations;
to answer your messages;
to improve our deals and website;
to keep the Service secure and meet our legal obligations.

We only send marketing emails if you’ve opted in, and you can unsubscribe from any email at any time.

We do not sell your personal information.

04Who we share it with

We use a few trusted service providers to run Fly Lekker. They may only use your information to provide their service to us:

Beehiiv: stores our subscriber list and sends our emails.
Cloudflare: hosts our website and database.
Paystack: processes membership payments.
Image and font services (city photos, flags and Google Fonts): your browser loads these directly, so those services receive your IP address.

We may also share information if the law requires it, or to protect our rights or someone’s safety.

When you click a deal, you go to Google Flights and then to an airline or booking site. Those sites have their own privacy policies.

05Information stored outside South Africa

Some of our providers store data outside South Africa, for example Beehiiv in the United States and Cloudflare on servers around the world. We only use providers that protect personal information to a standard similar to POPIA, as POPIA requires.

06Cookies and tracking

Our website doesn’t use advertising pixels or third-party analytics cookies. Your browser may remember small things, like your place on a page, and your browser handles that. If we add analytics or advertising tools later, we’ll update this policy first and ask for your consent where the law requires it.

07How long we keep it

Subscriber details: while you’re subscribed or a member, and for a short time after you leave, so we can honour your unsubscribe choice and handle any questions.
Billing records: as long as tax law requires, usually five years.
Messages you send us: as long as needed to help you.

08Your rights

Under POPIA you can:

ask what personal information we hold about you and get a copy;
ask us to correct it or delete it;
object to us using it, including for marketing;
withdraw your consent at any time.

Email flylekkerclub@gmail.com and we’ll respond within a reasonable time. We may need to confirm it’s really you.

If you’re unhappy with how we handle your information, you can complain to the Information Regulator (South Africa) at inforegulator.org.za.

09Keeping it safe

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your information, such as encrypted connections and restricted access to our systems. No system is perfectly secure. If a breach affects you, we’ll tell you and the Information Regulator as POPIA requires.

10Children

Fly Lekker is for adults. Please don’t join if you’re under 18.

11Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. The date at the top shows the latest version. If we make important changes, we’ll email members.
